Boy oh boy oh boy! Sherlock Holmes 2 was actually kind of good! Well…”good.” The plot is convoluted and makes no sense when you think about it for more than 15 seconds and everything is totally impractical but who cares! It was completely awesome entertainment. With seeing the first film, I knew I wasn’t in for anything outrageously transcendent here. This is a movie where you can sit back and just let it flow into your skull and enjoy the hell out of every second. It’s pretty funny and it moves fast enough to distract you from anything that would ruin an action movie. Moriarty and Holmes meet several times before the end of the movie, which is good because it builds their rivalry. Action films often save the confrontation for the very end, but this doesn’t spark any feelings about their antagonistic relationship. I’m glad they corrected this. As for anything else, it’s not even worth writing about. Sherlock Holmes 2 is just a thrilling night at the movies with your brain turned off.
