A vessel for a muse or two

35 notes

I just finished watching the first season of Treme and David Simon continues to be awesome.  One of the things I like so much about Treme is that every character is so innately likable.  They are all pricks in their own sense, struggling with identity and putting their lives back together, but at their core there is so much humanity.  It’s so easy to love every single character on the show(except perhaps Sonny).  I’m not used to this quality in television, as my favorite shows(Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos) are typically an exercise in watching terrible people grow progressively more terrible.  It’s nice to break the cynicism with something realistic and moving.
